Open Love: Does it make your relations better?

Season 3, Episode 2

I keep hearing the song, “Let My Love Open the Door.” That song keeps replaying in my head this week. The lyrics to that Pete Townsend tune are perfect fodder for our discussion this podcast. The song is a definite classic like many of our listeners of this podcast. The theme of this show is mainly about Lux’s encounter with a married woman in an open relationship with her partner. She is a much older woman who is committed to her current relationship, and yet is open to keeping the door ajar for others who might peek her interest. In this show, Lux is trying to wrap his head around her motives. Although he is interested in her, he thinks it is actually more of curiosity about the logistics of her partnership. Do open relationships really work? How does a couple handle jealously when they leave the door open to extra martial encounters intentionally? There are plenty of questions this show, but no definite answers, sorry. We can’t judge something we know so little about, but the idea is intriguing to Lux.

And as for me, my life is much simpler than Lux. I am simply talking via text and phone to a few new guys and figuring out if they are worth my time. Should we meet? Especially during this time of the year, I rather spend my time with family and friends I know than make new dating connections. It is for the same reason why it is not a good idea to give puppies and kittens as gifts during the holidays.
